Wo have held nix auction sales during the week. Drapery, at th-; Mart on Monday ; poor attendance, and low prices. On Wednesday a sale of land by order of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, and the property ottered ■was bought in by the mortgagee. Bananas at the Mart realised Jd per lb. Fruit trews at the Mart were not in demand. On Thursday: Household furniture and efiects, by order of the Official Assignee. A good attendance, and fair prices realised. Friday : Market sale at i he Mart. Poultry were entered up to the average, and maintained last week's average. A good attendance of buyers throughout the day, and fair competition for all lots. Four sales of produce and one of Island fruit, all well attended, with satisfactory results. Potatoes ; All lots to hand for Tuesday's sale realised from £7 5s to £8 ss, and one parvel was quitted privately at £9. By Friday large quantities were to hand, and dealers did not seem anxious to buy ..' previous rates. A few small lots ■were quitted at £(> 10s and balance held over. A sale of trees was held on Thursday, but there was no demand for any owing to the lateness of the season. Vegetables of all kinds were entered far in excess of requirements.
