The Times says that if the London Board of the Bank of New Zealand had demanded to be informed of the true position of the Bank earlier, much subsequent loss would have been averted. The same article hints that the Board of Trade ought to appoint auditors tc keep directors up to their duties.
SINGLE-TAX LEAGUE. Washington. September 3. The Central Single Tax' league hag been organised in New York. Mr. Henry George has declined to be a candidate for Congress.
IMPERSONATING;- PRINCE GEORGE.
London, September 3. It appears that the impersonation of Prince George of Wales by a midshipman was merely done as a hoax, and not with any criminal intent.
THE EIGHT HOURS' MOVEMENT. London, September 3. The dockers at Liverpool are agitating for eight hours as a working day.
