FATAL ACCIDENT AT TE KOPURU.
Tilt; past week may bo noted for the unusual number of accidents and illness in this district. On Saturday last a seaman on the ship Lumberman's Lassie, which arrived at Aratapu on Friday night, was furling lie main topsail, when his foot slipped, and he was precipitated a distance of about forty feet. The poor fellow was killed almost instantaneously. The inquest was held on Saturday afternoon by Mr. Thomas Webb, J.P. and coroner, when a verdict of "Accidental Death" was recorded.
