FLAX MILL DESTROYED BY FIRE.
■■ ■ ♦ [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Hamilton, Friday. The flax mill at Newstoad, owned by Messrs. Reynolds, Steel, and Reed, was burned down about five o'clock thisafternoon. The fire originated in the baling-room, but how it is not known. Everything was destroyed. The engineer, Franklin, was severely scorched by the fire. The piggeries belonging to the creamery were also burned down. Some of the pigs were let out in time, but the others were burned with the building. It is not known whether there was any insurance, but probably not, us flax mills are not readily insurable.
