Received December 4,1 ».m. THE DEFAULTING BANK TELLER. ■ Sydney, December 3. Thomas, the defaulting bank teller of the Bank of New Zealand, was charged before the Court to-day with embez-. zling the funds of the bank, and pleaded guilty, electing to be dealt with sumniarily, and counsel for the bank having intimated that the prisoner had made the fullest repai*ation in his power, he was sentenced to six months' imprisonment.
■ VICTORIAN BUTTER BONUS. Melbourne, December 3. The Government has decided to offer a bonus on butter exported from Victoria to England. The amount of the bonus ranges from one penny to threepence per pound, regulated according to the price at which the article is sold on the home market. ;?;'' ' ' '
SHIPPING. Melbourne, December 3. Sailed: S.s. Mararoa, for the Bluff. The Hon. A. Deakin ? Chief Secretary, was a passenger for Dunedin, where he will represent the Government at the New Ziealand Exhibition.
