Miss Edna Lyall, the author of " .'Donovan," is just recovering from a somewhat severe illness. She was taken ill some weeks back ab her residence at Eastbourne, and is still exceedingly weak. The statement, by the way, that has been widely circulated, to the effect that " Edna Lyall's" new work, " Derrick Vaughan, Novelist," is founded upon incidents in her own career, has very little foundation in fact.
