THE LICENSING ACT.
[B'JT TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunkdin, Thursday. A case depending on the reading of section 33 of the Licensing Act came befor< the Resident Magistrate to-day, when Harris Fredlick was charged with selling beej without a license. Fredlick holds a bottl: license, and a customer went into his store and purchased 6d worth of beer, handing in a bottle. He received in return a bottle with beer, loosely capsuled and wired. This was seized by a policeman. Mr. Carew said the section of the Act was easily evaded. The defendant had sold beer corked, with wire round the head of the r bottle and cork, and the case would be dismissed.
