"JONATHAN AND HIS CONTINENT."
One of the liveliest little books recently published is by the witty Frenchman whose pseudonym is Max O'Rell, and who leaped into fame as a brilliant writer when he produced "John Bull and His Island." He has since written several works devoted to the description of national characteristics, and which are full of the most wib and humour. His lasb book is entitled "Jonabhan and His Conbinenb," and is quite up to Max O'Rell's high level. Ib consists of a series of short chapbers, belling of his tour in America, and hitting off tho weaknesses and foibles of the Americans in the most amusing style. We inbend bo reprinb portions of bhe work from the Now York World, commenoing with tho first chapters on Monday.
