AN ACCIDENT TO A BUGGY.
Our Waibakerei correspondent writes :— Three young men, said to hail from the North Shore, last Saburday took a holiday trip'to the Cascade and Waitakerei Falls, via Swanson. I understand that, missing the train, they hired a buggy. The journey, nearly to the last clearing, was in safety ; but some part of bhe harness gebbing away going down the hill near towards Swanson on the home trip, the horse sot to kicking and leaping, and the young men jumped out of the buggy one after the other, leaving the horse to have ib out with the buggy, whioh it succeeded in leaving piecemeal along the road. The debris was scabbered over half-a-mile, and so completely was the buggy smashed up that the whole was collected and comfortably stowed away in a small trap, and thus conveyed to Auckland. I undersband bhat bhe horse was nob much hurb, if any, and it was fortunate the young men escaped ; but how much the accident was due bo carelessness or otherwise I havo nob had the opportunity of ascertaining.
