[prom our own correspondent.]/ Thames, Saturday. It has been decided to hold a united demonstration of all the local Friendly Societies in the Parawai Gardens on Easter Monday next. A lad named Albert Lloyd, 13 years of age, fell upon his head whilst climbing a karaka tree at Parawai to-day, which rendered him insensible for a short time. He was at once brought in to the Hospital, where he soon sufficiently recovered to be allowed to be removed to hia father's residence. Messrs. Coward and Hutchinson, the now ; manager and engineer respectively for the Crown.mine, Karangahake, arrived here last evening in company with Mr. Adam Porter, and loft again for Karangahake this afternoon, where Mr. Coward will takeover the management of the mine on Monday next. Mr. George Wilson, Mining Inspector, proceeded to Karangahake yesterday morning for the purpose of inspecting the mines in that district, apd also to meet Mr. Coward on his arrival there.
