TOBACCO SMUGGLING.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRKSS ASSOCIATION.] Oamaru, Sunday. Detective O'BKisy, on Saturday, made a icizure of about half a ton of tobacco on which luty had not been paid. The tobacco was unsigned by rail to a tobacconist here, and >art of it had been removed from tho railway station when the seizure was made. ?he police, howover, have all the tobacco n their possession now. The tobacco must iave been smuggled ashore at Port Chalaers, or somewhere near that place. '
