♦ _ JOHNSON VILLE. Messrs. Freeman R. Jackson & Co. report (by telegraph) on Wednesday : The yards were well filled with stock. Some heavy cows came fvrward. The rest of the beef was from inferior to good, and brought about 13s (id the lOOlbs. Sheep were slightly lower than last week. Lambs were penned in full numbers. Good fat lambs sold fairly well, but a large proportion of the entries were only stores, which are not saleable at these yards. Pigs were easier, and sold at quotations below. Cattle : Onepen of be.st bullocks! made £7, others £5 5s to £8, averaging £5 103 C<l; prize show cows, from £6 2s 6d to £7 7s «id ; inferior liirht bullocks, from £■! 'is 3d to £5 ; mutton, barely 13.s 4d. iSheep : Wethers, 10s • 0d to 11s (3d ; small light wethers, Ss 5d to 9s ; best ewes, 9s Sd to 9s lid f inferior, 7s ; fat lambs, 63 9d to 8s; stores, 3s (id to 4s 4d. Pigs : Baconers, 30s to 40s ; porkers, - 23.s to 27s ; stores, 10s to 16s 6d ; small pigs, 5s to Ss. DUNEDIN.—OATS. December 19.—Oats are in fair demand, and saleable at a reduction of ed to 9d per bushel on the top price this season. Holders, however, except on very rare occasions, decline to sell in the meantime for less than prices obtaining a fortnight or three, weeks ago, feeling contldent (on considering the limited quantity for disposal) that prices further on must, of necessity improve. Present market values . are as follow :—Prime milling, 3s 7d to 3s 8d ; beat - feed, 3s 5d to 3s 7d ; medium, 3s 3d to 33 4d ; inferior, 3.s to 3.s 2d (ex store). Very few holders could be picked up at these figures.
