CARRIED OUT TO SEA.

From Coromandel comes the news of a distressing accident at Whangapoua. It appears that a little boy named Clark, son of Mr. George Clark, was playing on the beach on Wednesday night, when he was caught by a receding wave, and washed out to sea. The little fellow was only five years of age. News of the sad occurrence was conveyed to Constable Rist, who at once set off to make inquiries, and also to try and recover the body of the child, but up to the latest advices he had not been successful.
