THE ACCIDENT AT THE SALTWATER BATHS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Having seen in the Hkrald that the young man, Robert Driver, who had a very narrow escape of bein& drowned in the Salt-water Baths, was saved by Robert Hardy, I beg most respectfully to state that no other man but myself assisted until I landed the young man on the stops. I cautioned him about the depth of water before he dived off the springboard, and noticing that he did not come to the surface for some time, and when he did come up I noticed that there was something the matter, as his head did not rise above the water. I immediately jumped in feet first, to make sure of saving him as soon as possible, and in doing so severely hurt my foot on the bottom. Notwithstanding my foot being hurt, I kept, his head above water, ana landed him on the steps.—l am, &c, James Knight, Victoria-street West. General Dealer.
