The ship Piako was yesterday entered out at the Customs for Napier, where she is to iill up with wool for the United Kingdom. Captain Sutherland does not expect to sail for two or three days yet however. Early yesterday morning the Northern »S.S. Co.'s Clansman reached port from her regular weekly trip to Russell and the North. She brought a goodly number of passengers, and the following articles were iijKm her freight list: —50 sheep, 2 horses, 237 sacks and 73 eases gum, and 3 tons sundries. She sailed again in the evening for Tauranga. The i''iji steamer Arawata was yesterday liusily discharging her cargo of transhipments ex the direct steamer Tongariro, which she brought up from Wellington, and was also taking in cargo for Lcvuka and Suva. At the Sugar Works the s.s. Fiona has almost completed the discharge of her sugar, and .-jas been entered out at the Customs for Whaiigarei, where she is to take in her back loading of 1000 tons coal for the lla River. The brigantine Gleaner, whose presence outside the harbour was notified in our columns yesterday, reached port at 10 a.m., being towed up to her berth at the Hobsonstreet Wharf by the tug Awhina. Shu left Brisbane oii_ September "26, and had .strong N.E. and N. winds and rough weather till making the North Cape on October 6. Down the coast contrary winds were experienced, and on Monday last she anchored at the Kawau for the night. On Wednesday night she lay under the shelter of Waiheke, and made the harbour as described. She brings a cargo of bonedustand coal. Shortly before one o'clock yesterday the schooner Waiapu left for her regular round to East Coast porta, proceeding via Mercury Bay, where she is to take in Home timber. ' She had on board a large quantity of stores, .etc., and three passengers.

The schooner Magellan Cloud was cleared at the Customs yesterday for Brisbane. She is to go to the Thames, where a cargo of (i7,0()0 feet dressed and 33,000 feet rough timber is waiting shipment for the Queensland capital. The ship Killochan has had quick despatch since her arrival in the colony on September sth. She put out all her heavy inward carpo here, and, sailing down to Lyttelton in the short space of live days, had commenced to load at a second port within SI days of her reaching Auckland. She will probably be full of grain .and ready to sail on the KSth instant, when it is hoped that Captain Manson will have a much less eventful return trip than His passage out. Last night the s.s. Wellington resumed her running, leaving at ten o'clock for YVhangarci, with a good number of passengers and cargo. The s.s. lona also sailed for Mercury Bay. The Jubilee steamer Stormbird arrived last night from Whangaret and -Northern ports with a large number of passengers and the following cargo : 200 sacks gum, T)0 sacks lime, 20 boxes butter, 10 boxes egg.-j, 10 sacks hides, 1 horse, and sundries. The steamer Glaucus left Melbourne yesterday for Kaipara to load timber on account of the" Kauri Timber Company. The Glaucus is a large iron steamer of 1363 tons gross register and 150 h.p., or about the same capacity as the Nemesis recently in port. iShe will, therefore, be able to take a cargo of fully 800,000 feet of timber to Melbourne.
