COMMERCIAL.

New Zealand Herald Office. Wednesday evening. The Customs receipts to-day were £$34 3s Sd. REJIUERA CATTLE FAIR. At the cattle fair, held at the Remuera Cattle Yards on Wednesday, there was a very fair attendance of buyers, and about 1000 head were yarded. They were mostly young stock from the North, and were in tearfully low condition, unusually so indeed for this season of the year. The steers were also poor in condition, although some of them were large-framed beasts. There were a few Shorthorn bulls offered, and the highest price reached was £5. A Hereford heifer fetched £3, and this was about the highest priced beast in the yard. It is not necessary to give details as to the sale, but we may mention that the prices for steers were rather lower, and the prices for heifers rather higher, than have lately obtained. We may quote the prices as follows .-—Yearling steers, ISs to 255; yearling heifers, 16s to 20s'; two-year-old steers. 35s to 40s ; two-year-old heifers, 25-s to Sss; three-year-old steers, 60s to 60s; cows, 25s to 10s.
