LOST OVERBOARD FROM THE MAIL STEAMER.
■ ■» Ox September 11, in lat. 25-46 south, long. 175--18 west, H. P. Bolton, aged '21 years, a native of England (one of the seamen of the vessel) accidentally fell overboard while in the act of getting on the stage plank. Life buoys were thrown over, a boat was lowered, and every effort made to save him, but without success. He was seen for bub a few minutes, and then disappeared. The boat searched for an hour and forty minutes, but as he was not seen again, the search had to be abandoned.
