CANADA AND AUSTRALIA
[PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Ottawa, September 5. The Marquis of Lansdowne, GovernorGeneral of the Dominion of Canada, states that no active commercial relations exist between Canada and Australia, but he expresses the opinion that it would be an advantage if close trade relations were established. The Canadian Government, however, preferred that the Australian colonies should take the initiative in the matter.
