A BAD CASE.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Thursday. Wm. Berwick, licensee of the Palace Hotel, was charged to-day with selling liquor after hours, allowing an unlawful game with dice to be played, and employing a barmaid after hours. He was fined £10 on the first, £10 on the second, and £5 on the third, the license to be endorsed for the latter offence. The Resident Magistrate gave an order for distress at once. The evidence showed that a number of women of bad character and men were in the house drinking, gambling, and dancing till three in the morning.
