AUCKLAND COURSING CLUB.
The committee of the Auckland Coursinj Club met promptly last night at the Commercial Hotel for the purpose of paying over the stakes won at the recent coursin<* matches at Plumpton Park, but curiously enough those who had to receive money were far less prompt, and a considerable delay took place before either winning owners or their representatives put in an appearance. The following cheques, the result of the recent coursing meeting, were paid over All Aged Stakes : Mr. A. Cairns' Union Jack, Ist, £19 ; Mr. W. Beard's Valentine, 2nd, £9 ; Mr. T. May's Waxy, £5 ; Mr. Macready's Typo, and Mr. Blenman's Lady Norah, £2 103 each : total, £38. St. Legcr: Mr. Porter's Paddy-go-Easy, £14, and cup presented by a member of "the committee ; Mr. Black's Gipsy King, 2nd, £7; Mr. T. McEwin'a Blue Cap, 3rd, £3 10s, and Mr. Wheeler's Trident, and Mr. Porter's Magazine, £2 each. The presentations of the principal prizes were made the occasion of congratulatory speeches and replies, and th? proceedings were thoroughly harmonious*>
