A PREMIUM TO FILTH.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Anomalies in New Zealand abound everywhere, and doubtless many are incapable of satisfactory explanation ; but, Mr. Editor, you may be able to explain why it is that the sanitary authorities of the city of Auckland offer a premium to filth by imposing an almost prohibitive tax on water-closets in the city. I enclose my card, and am, &c., Surgeon.
