BANKRUPTCY.
MEETING OF CREDITORS. Wk. George Allen.—An adjourned meeting of the creditors of the bankrupt estate of Wm. George Allen was held yesterday. In the absence of the Official Assignee Mr. A. Clark presided, and the other creditors resent were Messrs. Jervis, Calvert, Mcullough, McArthur, Macky, and Tewsley. Mr. Clark explained the object of the meeting. Mr. Mitchell made an explanation of the offer of 10s, which could not be carried out, as the book debts were not worth the money calculated on. They were prepared to offer 7s 6d. The chairman was of opinion that they should not accept any offer less than 10s. Mr. Tewsley thought they should call separate tenders for the stock and fittings. He moved that the assets of the estate of W. G. Allen be submitted to tender in three lots—l, stock ;2, fixtures ; 3, book debts; or jointly for the whole estate. Mr. Mitchell suggested that the creditors might accept an offer for the stock and fixtures. Mr. McArthnr moved, " That Mr. Allen's offer of 10s in the £ be accepted for the stock and fixtures." The amendment was lost, and the motion carried. On the motion of Mr. Tewsley, -Mr. Vosper was appointed to take stock. Mr. McCullough moved that Mr. Allen be allowed to retain his furniture. Mr. Macky seconded the resolution, and it was carried unanimously. This concluded the business.
