THE WATERLOO CUP.
Dctnedin*. Thursday. The New Zealand Waterloo Cup Coursing Meeting commenced to-day. The weather was favourable, and notwithstanding the recent rains the ground was in fair order, though here and there there were wet patches. The following are the results of the first rounds : —
Waterloo Cor of 32 dogs at £1210s each. Fawn Hope beat Artillery, Silvia beat Old Acquaintance, Lonewood beat Nelson, Kinsey beat Red Pine, Kiwi beat Rotoniahana, Secretary beat Little Jack, Bridegroom 2nd beat Doric, Joe Brown beat Robert, Gallant Foe beat Clan-na-Gael, Newton beat The Brewer, Sir Hercules beat Mararoa; Flora 2nd beat Zara, Quintina beat Dribbler, Kinger beat Kilkenny, Sailor Boy beat Presto, Furze beat Shamrock.
Bracelet Stakes of 33 clogs at £2 each: Mento beat Whisper. Sunshine beat Queen Mab, Old England beat Pound, Flower of Tyrone bent Forsake-Me-Not, Newmarket beat brook, Will-of-the-Wisp beat Merry Hampton, Raplone beat Bed of Stone, Briar Root beat Hereford, Jugurtha beat Handy Andy, Deception beat Dauntless?, Megadors beat Barrister, Sunset beat Don Jose, Kylesnne beat Elbe Deans, Sultan beat Lucy Allen. Retto beat Silver Queen 2nd, Bonny Black Bess a bye. The hares were very strong, and afforded fine sport. The attendance was not so large as was expected. AUCKLAND COURSING CLUB. A meeting of the committee of the Auckland Coursing Club was held yesterday for the purpose of deciding what should be done with regard to the final courses in the St. Leger and All-aged, which events remained unfinished on Wednesday last. It was decided to run off the events tomorrow, the dogs to be in the slips at three p. in. "V
