Christchurcii, Thursday. The North Canterbury Steeplechase at Amberley today was well attended. The following are the results of the principal races : —Great Northern Steeplechase, 60sovs, about three miles : Mr. W. 0. Rutherford's Presto, lOst 7lb (Sheenan), 1 ; Mr. A. L Barker's Daddy Longlegs (Mr. A. G. Cox), 2; Mr. T. J. Bradley's Isaac, 12st 71b 1 (Lyford), 3. Icenian also ran. Time, 7rnin f>ssec ; dividend, £6 10s 6d. Seadown Steeplechase, SOsovs ; two miles : Mr. T. 11. LanCe's , Premier, J Ist 4lb (Sheenan), 1 ; Mr. H. J. Pitt's Squib, 9st 121b (owner), 2 ; Mr. A. E. Holmes' Medico, list 101b (C. Connor), 3. Sawdust also ran. Time, 4min 52sec ; dividend, £4 10s.
