It is feared that a boating party, comprising three -persons, who left Jervis Bay on the 20th ult, have met with some accident, as since their departure nothing has been heard of them. THE BOTANY POISONING CASE. Sydney, August 9. TASMANIAN DEPUTY-GOVERNOR HOBART, August 9. Mr. Justice Dodds has been appointed Deputy-Governor of the colony. DESTRUCTIVE FIRE IN ADELAIDE. Adelaide, August 9. A most destructive fire has taken place at Port Adelaide, in Harrison's Mills. The premises were ravaged by the flames, damage being done to the amount of £30,000. The insurances amount only to £12,000, of which £2,000 is with the New Zealand Insurance Company, and £1,000 with the South British. The loss of the latter company will be under £500, as they had re-insured part of their risk. THE SEAMEN'S STRIKE AT SYDNEY. Sydney, August 9. The men who were called out on strike by the Seamen's Union from one of the Illawarra Company's steamers have returned to work, it is believed because of opposition to the Union.
