A CORRECTION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, Referring to my letter in your columns a few days ago, criticising the address of the Chairman of the Chamber <Sf Commerce, I included the Sugar Company in a reference which I made to several companies which had either broken down or failed to pay dividends in consequence of their having imprudently borrowed money with which to carry on their business. lam assured by a friend who is interested in the Sugar Company that my remarks do not apply to it, as it has carried on its business entirely with its own subscribed capital, and has paid dividends, of which he has given me some satisfactory evidence. 1. shall be obliged, therefore, by your allowing me so far to correct my statement. In all the other cases specified by me I had before me the printed reports of the companies alluded to, and the facts as regards them are beyond dispute.—l am, etc., William Fox.
