A MINE OF WEALTH.

A South Australian correspondent directs attention to the following interesting facts: —The yield of the Broken Hill Proprietary mine exceeds in monetary value a fourth of the gold product of Victoria, taking the figures of the Mines Department of that colony for the March quarter as a basis of calculation. For the three months the Victorian gold mines paid £111,149 in dividends. The Proprietary dividends now equal £96,000 for the period. The Victorian gold mines stand at a marketable value of considerably over £20,000,000, and the Proprietary mine at less than £3,000,000. The gold mines aro of an advanced age, while the Proprietary mine is in its bare infancy.
