THE POINT RESOLUTION AFFAIR.
[BT TKLEGRAHI. —SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.]
Wellington, Monday. Sir George Grey has been in frequent communication with the Government both during the recess and since the commencement of the session, over this business. His opinion has always been, either that the Government should institute proceedings, or that they should permit themselves to be joined in an action with the trustees of the native trust with a view of putting an embargo on any further dealings with the land, and in due course reinstating and restoring the trust. I understand that further correspondence has taken place. Mr. Frankland, -the actuary, has worked out the valuations and reported, and the Attorney-General andSolicitor-Goneral have also been communicated with. Nothing is known yot as to what decision the Government have arrived at, or tho views of the above-mentioned officers of the Crown.
