London, June 20. The wheat cargo by the barque Johann Carl, from Lyttelton, has been sold at 31s 6d. 7500 quarters of Australian wheat, June shipment, have been sold at 32s 9d.
At the wool auctions to-day 13,000 bales were sold. Opening prices were fully maintained, and in. some instances they were exceeded. Greasy merino and scoured are hardening. Apples by the Ruapehu are selling at 13s per case.
London, June Consols are 100|. New Zealand five per cents, are 106£; the four per cents, are 98J. Wheat is quiet; off the coast cargoes of Australian, 33s to 33s 6d. Australian tin is £80 10s. Leather is weak at &id per lb. [PER N. Z. L. AND M. A. CO., LIMITED.]
London, June 19. Wool.—The sales opened with spirit this day. For greasy and scoured the market is firmer. For fine crossbred the market is unchanged, and for coarse crossbred the market is easier. The attendance of both home and foreign buyers is good, and competition by both is fairly active. The sales comprise about 351,000 bales. 58,000 bales have been sent to the manufacturing districts direct.
Wheat.—New Zealand average is worth 335, and long-berried 33s 9d per 4961b. New Zealand wheat, f.a.q., is worth, c.i.f., to arrive, 31s 6d per 4801b. Tallow.—The market is weak. Good mutton is worth 235, and good beef 21s 9d per cwt. Leather. —The market is firmer. Quotations are unchanged. New Zealand Hemp.—Medium quality is worth £24 10s per ton. FrozjSN Meat.—For mutton the market is steady. New Zealand mutton, weighing per carcase 60 to 651b, is worth 4§d per lb. For lambs the market is firmer. New Zealand lambs are worth per carcase 6d per lb.
