LODGE ALBION, 2003/ E.C.

The installation of Brother James Mays as W.M. of Lodge Albion took place at the Masonic Hall, Devonport, last evening, in the presence of over 100 brethren, including BrotherW. Lodder, D.D.G.M.,E.C.,and his officers; and Brother G. P. Pierce, D.P.G.M., 1.C., and the following officers: —Brothers P.M.'s A. Russell, W. J. Suiter, J. Rees, G. H. Powley, Ellison, and A. Kidd; Brother F. Macrae, R.W.M., and officers Lodge St. Andrew ; Brother Hedley, W.M. Lodge Eden, and his officers; Brothers D. F. Evans (W.M. Lodge Ara), Olive (W.M. Lodge Waitemata), Trafford (W.M. Lodge United Service), Coom (Lodge Reinuera); also, P.M.'s Hanna, Vosper, Esam, Wright, Wade, McCullough, Leers, Kitt, Clark, and others. Brother M. Niccol, D.P.D.G.M., S.C., officiated as installing master, and it need hardly be said that in such efficient hands the ceremony was most impressively performed. The various lectures were given by P.M.'s Wright, Knox, and Vosper. Brother Mays then proceeded to invest his officers as follows : — Brother James Mays, W. M. ; Brother James Knox, I.P.M. ; Brother A. B. Burgess, S.W. ; Brother James Logan, J.W. ; Brother S. Vosper, P.M., treasurer ; Brother J. H. Bennett, secretary; Brother Edwin Hosking, organist; Brother F. Silver, S.D. ; Brother T. Farquharson, J.D. ; Brother C. G. Walker, I. G. ; Brother S. Vosper, director of ceremonies; Brother Alfred Benge, senior steward ; Brother J. A. Sloane, junior steward; Brother T. Varcoe, tyler. Brother P.M. Vosper officiated as M.C. in an able manner. After the usual congratulations the lodge was closed in due form, and the brethren, at the invitation of Brother Mays, adjourned to Brother .Robinson's Flagstaff Hotel, where they safe down to a supper that did great credit to the host. During the evening the usual toasts were proposed and received with enthusiasm.
