[own correspondent.] Thames, Wednesday. The Native Lands Court adjourned to Tuesday to hear Kauaeranga 28. The other rehearings were all disposed of. Cambridge, Wednesday. The first of the series of entertainments was given in St. Andrew's Schoolroom last night. Major Wilson lectured on "Poetry and lbs Refining Influence," and the address was well received. Numerous musical selections were given during the evening. [press association.] Dunedin, Wednesday. Mary Boyd, charged with obtaining goods on false pretences, has been sentenced to two months' imprisonment. She read an extraordinary statement, in which she alleged that she inherited madness from her mother. Her counsel urged the authorities to inquire into her statement.
