THE MELBOURNE EXHIBITION.
[press association.] Melbourne, April 6. The Exhibition building is well advanced to completion. It is expected that everything will be ready in time. The annexes will be finished in a week or two. The allotment of space to individual exhibitors begins shortly. London, April 5. The pictures for the Melbourne Exhibition are not numerous, but are remarkable for the excellence of the collection. The Prince of Wales has consented to lend a number of paintings in his possession.
Wellington, Friday. At a meeting of the Exhibition Committee to-day, His Excellency th 6 Governor pre Bided. Instructions were issued for forwarding exhibits from this colony. Chkistchuech, Friday. The Kaiapoi Woollen Company refuse to exhibit at Melbourne. The reason alleged is that there is so much work on hand that to give up what is being done in order to prepare a special exhibit would lose more time than can be afforded.
