[press association.] London, April 5. The weekly returns of the Bank of England published to-day show the total reserve in notes and bullion to be £13,400,000, being a decrease of £1,740,000. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 36 per cent. The quantity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,500,000 quarters, and for the Continent 300,000 quarters. The market rate of discount is If per cent. i Chilian copper, £80 10s. Sugar, German beet, is 13s 9d. Copper, the stock is 59,000. < Kauri gum is declining. Hides are 3|d.
