THE AGENT-GENERAL.
[by telegraph.—press association.] Wellington, Friday. The Government have received no intimation from Sir D. Bell that he intended retiring from the Agent - Generalship in October.
Our Wellington correspondent says :— " Tho Government think the rumour is without foundation. Sir Dillon Bell's term will expire in January next; if he wished to retire two months sooner he would be likely to have informed the Government."
