[BY TELEGRAPH. association.] Wellington, Thursday. The following are the vital statistics for February :— • .
The deaths of persons not residents of the boroughs occurring at hospitals has been excluded in all cases. The total births in the above boroughs amounted to 458, against 478 in January, a decrease of 26. The deaths in February were 204, an increase of 2 on the number for January. >Of the total deaths, males contributed 112, females 02. 86 of the deaths were of children under five years of ace. being 42.16 per cent, of the whole number; 63 of these were under one year of age.
