NEW ZEALAND TELEGRAMS.
[press association.] Napier, Thursday. From telegrams received by the Mayor it appears that the press telegram relative to the relief of the burned out bush-settlers, has been misunderstood, and read as meaning that sufficient funds are in hand. The meaning intended was, that it is anticipated that when the lists from all quarters are received it is expected that sufficient funds will be raised.
In the artesian well, six bore, put down by the Corporation to a depth of 156 feet, there is a magnificent flow, larger than from any other well in New Zealand.
