SMELTING WORKS.
AN EXAMPLE FOR NEW ZEALAND.

Sydney, March 28. The Government intend to erect smelting works for assaying bulk samples of ores instead of small quantities. Last year 2200 assays were made, and it is expected that there will be 5000 this year.
