[ THE SYDNEY GOLD CUP. [PRESS association.] Sydney, March 27. Carlyon, the favourite for the Sydney Gold Cup, pulled up lame after a gallop this morning. Acme is now installed first favourite at 4 to 1. AUCKLAND AUTUMN MEETING. Tamora, on the strength, it is rumoured of her having had the best of a trial against two of her stable companions, was most in request yesterday for the Easter Handicap, and 100 to 10 would have been accepted about her, coupled with Orangeman for the Steeplechase, but 100 to 12 was the best price on offer. Acceptances for the Easter Handicap and Steeplechase, forfeits in connection with the St. Leger and Champagne Stakes, together with general entries are due tonight. Alangaohane was yesterday scratched for the Steeplechase. THE WAIKATO JOCKEY CLUB. The management committee of the above club met at Bach's Hotel, Cambridge, on Saturday evening, and paid over the stakes to the winners of races at the late meeting, held at the Hautapu course. I am pleased to report that the club have a credit balance of £50, after paying all expenses. Of this amount £28 7s was received from the totalisator.—[Own Correspondent],
