Wellington, Tuesday. The annual report of the WellingtonManawatu Railway Company shows that the gross proceeds of 28,807 .acres of land sold amounted to £57,294 7s Id, and there still remains in tho hands of the company an area of 210,691 acres for future sales. In addition the company has still to receive from the Government in fulfilment of their contract land to the value of £29,805. The

gross proceeds of the traffic during the year amount to £46,590 6s lOd. A pleasing feature of the latter is that the returns for the weeks from Ist December, 1887, to '29th February, 1888, in comparison with the corresponding period of the preceding year, show an increase of £219 per week. The working account for the year shows a profit of about £27,000 towards payment of debentures' interest.
