DUNEDIN PROTECTIONISTS AND THE TARIFF.
»' [by telegraph.—press association.] Dunedin, Monday. At a meeting of the Protection Association to-night the Victorian tariff was practically adopted, with the exception of 2s 6d as a duty on coal. In regard to fruit, they recommended 3d per case or an equivalent ad valorem, and a differential duty of 25 per cent, in favour of locally manufactured spirits. ______^____ — _____
