SCHOOL ACCOMMODATION.
♦ [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] ' Wellington, Monday. The Wellington Board told the Minister of Education that there were thirteen children of school age for whom the Board was unable to find accommodation in the schools. The Minister, desirous of having information on this subject from the Central Board in all parts of the colony, issued a circular asking the following questions:—(l) Whether any, and if any, how many children have applied for admission to their schools and been refused admission on the ground of insufficiency of accommodation during the years 18S6-1887-188S. The following answers have been received :—Taranaki, none; Wanganui, no information on the subject in the office; Timaru, none; Nelson, none ; Grey, none ; Westland, none; Marlborough, none. At tho Sydenham School about 100 had been refused admission, but were admitted elsewhere. Wellington sends no answer to the circular. No answer had been received from Auckland, owing possibly to its distance.
