Mr. Musgrave Heaphy has written to the Anglo-American Brush Corporation, in response to inquiries, to the following effeot :— "An electrio light installation thoroughly well put up with the best quality of workmanship and materials, and in accordance with the fire rules, forme one of the most secure of all methods of lighting, so much so that it is being allowed in building* without any extra charge for insurance, notwithstanding that gas and other illuminants are used concurrently. On the other hand, an eleotric light installation improperly put np, and where the quality of materials and workmanship employed are not of the best, renders a building extremely hazardous so far as an outbreak of fire is concerned. Fires have occurred through the electrio light which would not hare happened if the installations had been arranged securely, and they have broken out, too, in such plaoes as between floors and ceilings, behind wainscotings, and under roofs. My advice is, that any intending user of the eleotric light should determine to have it pat up in the best possible manner, with the best materials and workmanship, or else should give up all idea of having it. Should he not d«< this he will forfeit the important advantages ■riaini; roraitaose." b
