A SEAMAN'S DEATH.

A seaman named James Rondu, discharged from the brig Reckless, now at Port Albert, died at Warkworth on Friday while en route to the Auckland Hospital. The inquest was held on Saturday before Mr. Angove, Coroner, and a jury of six. Mr. Thomson was foreman. After hearing the evidence adduced the jury returned a verdiot to the effect that deceased died from an overdose of bromide of potassium, administered by himself while suffering from disease, but what disease there was no evidence to show. The jury were also of opinion that the captain was guilty of great neglect in going to sea with an empty medicine chest, and also for refusing to send for a dootor to attend deceased while lying in Port Albert for some days previous to leaving the vessel. The above are the facte eo far as they have been ascertained by Constable Haddock, who telegraphed the particulars to Inspector I Shearman. !
