THE ROBBERY OF A YACHT.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Thursday. Inspector Thomson has received information that a craft resembling the yacht Dido, stolen from Wellington harbour, baa been seen off the Kaikouras (15 miles out to sea), sailing in the direction of Lyttelton. The s.B. Wakatu saw the same vessel, which her skipper believes to be the Dido. Instructions have been sent to the police at Lyttelton to seize the vessel and arrest the orew should the missing vessel put in there. It is stated that the men who took the yacht away also carried several pots of paint with them, so that they will probably attempt to repaint the vessel before landing anywhere along the coast. In consequence of this information telegrams have been sent to Lyttelton and Coast stations, warning them to keep a sharp look out (or small craft.
