Api he, Friday. SIR Jdlifs Vogel arrived overland to-night. On his way he was met by a large crowd at Eastings, who hooted and hissed while the train remained at the station. A'i Napier ie Was met by a crowd of Mr. Ivess' supporters, who received him most enthusiastically. His chair was placed in an express tad dragged to the Masonic Hotel, acoomkaniod by the bearers and the Railway Band. C Mr. Ormond addressed a crowded meeting to-night, receiving a most enthusiastic "6ception. He made a very heavy attack on (the Ministry, particularly Sir J. Vogei. 'He explained that he had been invited to attend Sir J. Vogel's meeting to-morrow eight, and reply to hirn, but terms could not tie arranged. He had offered the Theatre Royal to Sir J. Vogel, to be open to the supporters of both sides, or that similar terms should be granted by Mr, ivess' committee, who have engaged the Gaiety Theatre. That, however, Mr. Ivess' com mittee would not agree to, reserving to themselves the right to issue tickets to their own supporters to admit them before the doors were opened to the public. That meant a packed meeting, which would how', iim down when he attempted to reply, so he upoke to-night instead, giving up his meeting to-morrow night.
