Heavy damages are claimed for tbe flooding of the basement of plaintiffs' warehouse. At a special meeting, the City Council accepted tlio tender of McEvoy, Manley, McLeod, Eank and Co. (£493), for street and sewer cleaning, street watering, etc., for one year. The Council are makiug the experiment of dispensing altogether- with day labour.
