THE FATAL BATHING ACCIDENT AT NELSON.
INHUMAN CONDUCT. [By telegraph.—PßESH ASSOCIATION.] Nelson, Thursday. In the case of drowning that occurred yesterday, an inquest was held to-day, and a verdict of accidental death was recorded, with a rider expressing approbation of the '•endue 1 of Jean Hopper, Leonard, and John ■/•lines, but strong indignation at the in-' imiau conduct of some men who passed <';ir the spot at the time of the accident, i.d who, though asked to render asaistauce, • .id they could not. The names of the men have not been ascertained. Another rider represented the necessity of replacing the life-saving appliances which 'had been wantonly destroyed.
