THE CAMPAIGN IN IRELAND.

MR. PARNELL'S , ATTITUDE. [reutkr's telegram.] London, December 19. Mb, Parnell has reserved his opinion as to the plan of campaign inaugurated by the Irish agitators until he shall have conferred with the promoters of the campaign. For this purpose he will proceed to Dublin forthwith. At meetings of tenants at Kilrush and Killarney yesterday, Mr. Harrington, a prominent Land League supporter, delivered an address, in which he advocated perseverance in the plan of the campaign. 1 [press ASSOCIATION.] London, December 20. Mr. O'Brien states that the proclamation by the Government of illegality of the agitators' plan of campaign will in no way stop them carrying it out, but will rather cause the Leaguers to act with greater care than they might otherwise have done. Mr. Parnell states that he has been confined to his room by illness, from which he is only now recovering, and that he was not aware of the plan until it was published. The Standard regards this disclaimer of Mr. Parnell as a flat censure on the originator of the plan. All the Press, including those papers favourable to Mr. Gladstone, support the Irish policy of the Government. Irish juries are acquitting prisoners in grave cases, fearing the vengeance of the Land League. The Observer states that the Cabinet has decided to introduce a new Crimes Act if such a measure should be found necessary.
