»... EXPECTED RIOTING. [reutbr's cablegram.] London, October 19. The Chief of the Metropolitan Police has written to the promoters of the projected Socialist demonstration on the occasion of the Lord Mayor's Show, on the ninth prox., stating that the proposed procession will provoke gross disorder, and probably endanger life. The authorities, he says, will hold tho Socialists responsible for any consequences resulting from the projected procession.
