CHRISTIAN UNITY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —"Colonua" has spoken out very plainly re Christian unity. As long as people chose to oling to their fancy opinions of what Scripture warrants and what Scripture does not warrant so long will all hope of Christian unity be but a mere sham, far and away more chimerical than the idea of Imperial Federation. When St. Paul said, "He that will not hear the Church let him be to thee as the heathen and the publican,"he affirmed the principle of unyielding authority. Let the denominations first see whioh one of them has the authority to oommand, and surely then all the sincerely pious will be inclined to obey. To deny the existence of such an authority is to impugn the wisdom of God, who never intended Christians to be "blown about by every wind of doctrine,"l am, &c., E. F. G.
